The Concord Lady Lions struggles on the season continued this past Sunday on the road in Shepherdstown, WV versus Shepherd as the Concord Lady Lions would fall 17-0 and 10-2 in the doubleheader on Sunday.

On Saturday Concord was due to travel to Salem, WV to take on Salem International only to have the double header cancelled due to weather and field conditions.

Last Thursday Concord would face Bluefield State in Athens in a doubleheader that was originally scheduled to be played out in Bluefield, but was forced to move to Athens because of field conditions. Concord was unable to come away with a win, as Bluefield would sweep the doubleheader over Concord 13-3 and 6-2.

Prior to facing Bluefield State the Lady Lions faced Mountain State on March 26th in Athens, and would split the doubleheader, and in the process the Lady Lions were able to win their first game on the season as Concord would win the first game 6-5 before falling 22-4 in the 2nd game. In the Lady Lions win Heather Witt would hit a homerun in the bottom of the 5th inning to tie the game at 5-5. In the 8th inning Sophomore RHP/OF Jenny Reager would hit a double in the bottom of the 8th and would be driven in on Freshmen RHP/Utility player Channing Daniel’s game winning RBI to give Concord the 6-5 victory for their only win on the season back on March 26th.

The Concord Lady Lions are currently 1-14 on the season will look to get on the winning track when they face WVIAC conference opponent Davis & Elkins on Friday afternoon in Athens in part of a doubleheader beginning at 3:00pm.
