The Concord Mountain Lions faced cross-town rival BluefieldState on Sunday only to split the doubleheader losing 5-4 before winning easily 11-1 in the 2nd game. In the first game the Big Blues were able to get on by Concord, as the Mountain Lions would fall in extra innings and BluefieldState would defeat Concord 5-4 in 10 innings. In the second game of the doubleheader the Mountain Lions were able to take control and took care of business easily winning by 10 runs as Concord would win 11-1 over BluefieldState.
Prior to splitting the doubleheader with BluefieldState, Concord faced OhioValley for four games in two doubleheaders on March 21st and March 22nd with Concord taking 3 of 4. On March 21st Concord would sweep the doubleheader winning 6-2 and 8-6 before splitting on March 22nd losing 8-3 before winning 10-4. In the doubleheader on March 21stConcord would get a complete game by P Trey Smith who would allow only 2 runs on 5 hits and would strike out 3 batters in the victory. In game 2 of the doubleheader Concord would have a 6run 5th inning for the come from behind 8-6 victory.On March 22nd Concord would fall behind early and could never comeback in the game losing 8-3. Game 2 was a different story as Concord was able to get the 10-4 victory behind the pitching of P Donovan Huffer would pitch 5 innings striking out 4 and allowing 3 hits.
