Currently freshman Szymon Rola is ranked 11th in the nation in DII for the 800 meter run. Last week Rola placed a time of 1:52.45 which puts him #1 of all time at Concord University and will be one of only 20 athletes chosen to complete in the division II national championships for the 800m. The national championships for Track and Field will take place at Angelo State University, in San Angelo Texas on May 21-23.

Rola not only owns the all time record for Concord in the 800 but also broke the 1500 meter record a few weeks ago with a time of (3:58.50).

Coach Cox had this to say about Szymon’s work this year and his future at Concord, “Szymon has worked very hard this year … it’s great. If he can just make it there this year (to nationals) and see what it’s all about, he’ll be ready in the future to hopefully be an All-American several times!”
