Mountain Lions Spring Football Game Saturday at 6:00pm at Callaghan Stadium

The annual spring game is upon us and with it brings much excitement for the upcoming season and this year’s spring game will be on Saturday evening at 6:00pm from Callaghan Stadium in Athens.

 

  The Concord Mountain Lions are coming off a horrendous 0-11 season this past fall, but Mike Kellar is now at the helm as the New Concord Mountain Lions Head Coach replacing Greg Quick during the offseason. Kellar came to Concord back in December from California (PA) where he was the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach for a California (PA) program that was in the NCAA Division II playoffs this past season. Coach Kellar resides from Shinnston, WV and played Quarterback at Glenville State for current Michigan Head Coach Rich Rodriguez, and Kellar played at Fairmont State. In Coach Kellar’s 5 seasons at California (PA) they went 48-12. Coach Kellar also had coaching stops at Fairmont State and Northern Michigan.

 

Head Coach Mike Kellar is joined on his staff by Brian Hill the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator. Coach Hill was previously the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Line Coach at Lenoir-Rhyne. Chris Bowers is the new Recruiting Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach for Concord, and Bowers was previously the Defensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator for Defiance College. Garin Justice is also new to the Concord staff where he will be the Assistant Coach and Offensive Line Coach, along with being the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Justice previously a Graduate Assistant at Florida State where he was the past two seasons.

 

  The Concord Mountain Lions many offseason changes will take effect this Saturday evening at 6:00pm as Concord will get their first look at the Mike Kellar Coached Mountain Lions.

 

The Concord Mountain Lions will open up the season Saturday August 29th on the road versus Southern Virginia at 6:00pm, with the home opener being Thursday September 3rd at 7:00pm versus Lenoir-Rhyne.
