The Financial Aid Office is hosting Trick or Treat Tuesdays throughout the month of October from
The goal of this is making students aware that financial aid is ready to assist you. Lisa Spencer of the financial aid office said, “We were challenged by President Aloia and Kent Gamble to do something to attract students. The financial aid office decided to decorate and hand out treat bags to any student that asks us questions.”
Kent Gamble said, “President Aloia is very interested in making sure students are taken care of. Because of the rise in attendance, staff needs to do everything we can to take care of students.”
He and Kent Gamble decided to market this creative event to students, making them aware that the financial aid office is available all year. “Trick or Treat Tuesdays is just a way to put a buzz into people’s heads-it’s all about marketing. Something catchy will stand out better and help people remember it better,” Kent Gamble said.
In order to receive candy, a student must ask a question concerning financial aid. Trena Stovall said, “While we’re here all year round, this is a slower time to ask all the questions you need, which could benefit you for all of your future financial aid concerns.”
The financial aid office is encouraging all students to come to the office to talk to them. Although they are always available to help students, Trick or Treat Tuesdays are days they set aside to especially help answer any questions a student may have. Sherry Brogan said, “This is a special time we have for students to come in and ask about their financial aid, not only for the current semester but for the future as well.”
This is an opportunity for students to check on their information during the semester. At the beginning of a semester, the financial aid is typically chaotic, therefore it is a good idea to get any questions or concerns out of the way while there is time set aside for it. The financial aid office is able to answer any questions about your current financial aid, future financial aid, summer classes, loans, grants, FAFSA, or any other questions you may have.
