Weekly Dose of A&E: Movie Flashback, 80's Style
Jessica Fowler
Movies from the 80s are by far my favorite movies to watch. The Brat Pack definitely made 80s movies awesome.
Any movie that Molly Ringwald performed in was very entertaining. She played her roles in Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, and The Breakfast Club very well as the average teenage girl struggling through everything life throws at you.
Every time I saw one of these movies on TV, I’d drop whatever I had going on just to watch it. Recently I bought Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club to continue my collection of 80s movies.
The next movies I want to buy are Pretty in Pink and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Sometimes I wish I knew how the characters in these wonderful 80s movies ended up being as they grew up. Actually, I have often thought about how sequels to these movies would be, however, I’m so glad the best ones did not have sequels.
That probably would have made it cheesy and decreased the quality of the story.
These movies are way too cool to be ruined by a second version.
Movies like Grease that do have sequels usually are not as good as they were when there was just one of them.
I thought that Grease 2 was a horrible movie. The actors were nothing like the original Danny and Sandy. It is similar to making a movie from a novel.
The book is almost always better than the movie because the movie tends to leave out important details from the book.
This can become a huge let down and very disappointing. I think the original movies should stay original without any sequel to ruin it.
From Beetlejuice to A Christmas Story, the 80s supplied us with so many great legendary movies.
