Concord's yearly literary magazine, Reflexes, is seeking submissions for this spring's edition.
The magazine accepts all types of art: poems, short stories, drawings, and photographs, as well as pictures of paintings, ceramics, and sculpture.
Reflexes has been a part of Concord at least since the 1980's, advisor Dr. Gompf said after checking with previous advisor Dr. Roth.
The magazine varies in length from 25 to 50 pages, depending on the number of submissions and amount of funding available for printing.
"The more students that submit, the better the magazine in terms of variety and quality since there is more to choose from," Gompf said.
Students put together the magazine themselves with very little help. Gompf proofreads the final product, but student editors read the submissions and make decisions on design and what to include in what order. Kevin Kwon is this year's editor.
"It really should be and remain a students' magazine," Gompf said.
This year's edition of Reflexes will come out around the last week of classes. Copies can be found in the library, the Division of Languages and Literature office, and other various places around campus. Once they are distributed, if you cannot find one, contact Dr. Gompf or Kevin Kwon.
Students who are interested can bring their work in to Dr. Gompf's office in Admin 327, email it to reflexesmag@gmail.com, or send it to Campus Box C40. The deadline for submissions is March 5.
"We need submissions, so please do not be shy. We also need people to work on the magazine-especially people who will be around the next few years and can provide a sense of continuity. Contributors and editors do not need to be English or Art majors," Gompf said.
