For What It's Worth: Trash cans should be placed in parking lots

It wasn't just one cup or a piece of paper; it was an empty food container along with several drinks. I couldn't believe someone could just leave so much trash laying there.
They're destroying the reputation Concord has created for itself - "The Campus Beautiful."
My question is this: Why not leave your empty containers in your car until you see a trash can?
Anyone who knows me knows my car is a disaster. I'd rather the inside of my car look like a garbage dump than have litter scattered everywhere outside.
Trash cans can be found many places. They're almost always at gas stations and if you're driving, you're going to have to stop there eventually anyway.
But that made me think, why don't we have more trash cans outside? Especially in the parking lots?
I know this is going to increase someone's workload, but I'm sure the Eco Club could maintain them if they were purchased.
I think it's great that the Eco Club, as well as other groups on campus take the initiative to have "clean-up days." But if students are positively reinforced by having more trash cans readily available, there may not be such a demand for "clean-up days."
It's just a thought, but I'd love to see less litter in the parking areas.
